Earth is not a spinning water ball. You're welcome in advance.

I wonder whether something deeper and inhabitable can be found in the pacific maybe a large population will be reside in the pacific somehow just as to how a whole new surprising continent named the Americas was found in 1504

Whats there to customise in a globe apart from the base? the cost is not for the globe. Its for the base may be??
@jacquesmertens3369 2 месяца назад
Surprised people pay a fortune for these globes. Nothing special, nothing very precise either. But the world is full of bored millionaires who have no idea what to spend their money on.

i need to start making flat earth maps artisan style
@jaytc3218 3 месяца назад
Wait. So ... the world isn't flat? Just kidding, just kidding. After I finished watching this video, I then watched a video about mass-produced globes. The people who work in those places seem dedicated to their jobs and they carefully inspect their work. However, between mass-production and what Bellerby does, there is absolutely no comparison. Bellerby is lightyears beyond anything else out there. And to those out there bringing up the point that the earth is not a perfect sphere, that is true. But I would like to put something to rest about inaccuracies. The slide rules that were carried by the Apollo astronauts to the moon were accurate to within about 2 decimal places, which is fine for most navigation functions. When I was learning to fly way back in the olden days, we used a circular slide rule called an E6B. I still have mine today and I'm still fairly handy with it if I do say so myself! If you're interested, there are tons of videos here on YT that will show you how they work. E6Bs are accurate to within 1 or "maybe" 2 decimal places if you're lucky. But for most functions, that's perfectly acceptable. And the Inertial Navigation System that was the predecessor to GPS was first flown on a 747 from Los Angeles, California to Sydney, Australia (approx. 6,400 nm) and was accurate to within 1 nm, well within the length of a major airport runway. An error of 1 nautical mile over a distance of 6,400? I'll take that every day of the week. The only applications that I can think of where you would need a greater accuracy than that would be things like engineering and design, machining tolerances, theoretical physics, astrophysics, certain applications of chemistry, etc. Sorry if I left anybody out. But for the rest of us mere mortals in the everyday world, 2 decimal places and the level of accuracy that goes with that is perfectly fine in most situations. And these globes appear to be about as accurate as you'll ever want or attain. And besides all of that, they're just beautiful!

Sorry, I'm think there are Artisans in other countries that can also do this. This is just all marketing really

The earth is not a sphere. It is flat. It does not rotate. It is covered with a solid dome. We live in God's terrarium. This video is propaganda.

They’re so expensive because they’re getting paid so much from NASA to keep the globed earth lie alive!

@DerUnbekannte 6 месяцев назад
they only reason their job is not done mostly by machines is because rich people like handmade stuff. this is nice as a hobby, as a job it's just lost human productivity I can't believe they're pretending that cutting something along a line precisely is a skill that's worth money I think this is the most pointless feature I've seen on this channel, by quite a margin
@wentallout 6 месяцев назад
a bunch of idiots making inaccurate objects, earth has a different shape you know

TLDR: low experience workers makes mistakes. These mistakes increase production time and labor cost. They charge customers for their mistakes.
@robertmusil1107 6 месяцев назад
It's expensive because people want you to waste money. I have a Globe at home from 1990. It's just decoration nowadays. You'll never use it. No one gives a shit if it is handmade or not. It's something completely arbitrary that shouldn't exist. They waste resources for something that no one needs.
@hugochan2821 7 месяцев назад
It takes 18 month for someone to apply glue precisely. In contrast, it take few months to design, and another few to use machine to mass produce stuff at lower cost. For instance, computer chip contains billion of switch, transistor, and no one will rely on people to do that. That nanometre accuracy is doable by machine. Don’t really know why not use robot to just glueing and cutting stuff.
@PakiRaja 7 месяцев назад
a bit confused, why are the globes painted by hand when the borders and features seem to be printed out?
@esisimp123456 7 месяцев назад
I don't know why but this seemed a little pretentious. Why paint the globe when you are already fine with printing them. Why not just print the topographic colour as well. That would be more accurate as well.
@Hitagara 7 месяцев назад
I see that it is expensive because it is extremely inefficient production.

It must of happened where they have literally been 90% done on a globe and then someone has completely fucked up to the point where the globe had to be scrapped.

Call me an uncultured swine but laying flat paper over a sphere doesn't seem like the way to go for accurate quality globes lol, "entirely handmade except the parts that aren't"

Why are this expensive globes - perfect spheres, when Earth is not a perfect sphere?
@Knifeys 7 месяцев назад
So, the rich really do have nothing better to do than to spend money on a false image of something they know nothing about. Nice irony, love it.
@seasaw1405 7 месяцев назад
2:25 From what i know Earth is not a perfect sphere So is it really worth 90k after not being 100% accurate miniature representation of Earth
@kalebbruwer 7 месяцев назад
I'm surprised they use paper and glue, to be honest. I kind of assumed those high end globes would be painted/printed directly onto the sphere. Maybe even carved
@magnificat_orig 7 месяцев назад
Well, the Earth is not perfectly spherical ;)

@Max-me9ol 7 месяцев назад
that sounds like SUCH a boring job. you do the same thing over and over again and arent even allowed to make even the slightest mistake. i also dont think these people get paid much as its pretty much a job in which you dont need any sort of higher education.
@Wasthatapuffin 7 месяцев назад
They focus on it being a "perfect sphere"....but the earth itself isn't a perfect sphere. So, artistry vs accuracy? Can you request accuracy first? Bet it costs more...
